Ambassador of India to the Kyrgyz Republic pays tribute on the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

        Ambassador of India to the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Arun Kumar Chatterjee paid floral tributes on the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October, 2022 at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi located on Mahatma Gandhi Street in Bishkek. Officials of the Embassy of India in Bishkek, local residents and Indian students joined him in paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

2.  In his address on the occasion, Ambassador talked about the life and message of Mahatma Gandhi which are universal and timeless.He mentioned that 2nd October is marked as the International Day of Non-Violence. He also paid tribute to second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary, which also falls on the same day.

3.  Ambassador awarded medals to the winners of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) online quiz conducted during January 2022 by the Ministry of External Affairs to commemorate 75 years of the Independence of India with the aim to create awareness about India's rich Culture, Heritage and Custom. The winners were the following Indian nationals in the Kyrgyz Republic:

 (i) Gold: Mr. Mohammad Noor Hasan, student of the Asian Medical Academy, Kant.

 (ii) Silver: Mr. Farooq Mahmad Hanif Gujrati, student of IHSM, Bishkek.

 (iii) Bronze: Mr. Dixant Chauhan, student of Osh State University, Osh.
