Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme

 The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme was instituted on 15 September 1964 as a bilateral programme of assistance of the Government of India. The ITEC Programme, fully funded by the Government of India, has evolved and grown over the years. As a result of different activities under this programme, there is now a visible and growing awareness about the competence of India as a provider of technical know-how and expertise as well as training opportunities, consultancy services and feasibility studies. Training or capacity building is one of the major activities under ITEC. Professionals are offered unique training courses in different centres of excellence in India which empower them with not just professional skills but prepare them for an increasingly globalized world.

 Under the ITEC Programme all expenditure, including the international air passages, visa, course fee, accommodation, living allowance, study tour, book allowance, health facility, are borne by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The courses are open for all ITEC partner countries including nationals of Kyrgyz Republic.

Besides specific eligibility criteria for each course, following are the general pre-requisites for ITEC training in India:

 i) Candidate should be between the age of 25 and 45.

ii) Candidate should possess working knowledge of English for attending English language courses and good knowledge of English for other courses.

iii) Candidate should be of sound health.

iv) Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience.

 The candidate should fill up the ITEC application online and submit a printout of the application through the nominating Ministry/Organization to the Embassy.

 Kyrgyz Republic and ITEC

Kyrgyz Republic has been India’s ITEC partner since 1992. Since then, nearly 1500 scholars from the Kyrgyz Republic have availed the programme. India has allocated 100 slots for various courses under the ITEC programme to the Kyrgyz Republic for the Year 2023-2024.
