INDIA-KYRGYZ REPUBLIC DEFENCE INDUSTRY SEMINAR
India-Kyrgyz Republic Defence Industry Seminar with the theme “Strengthening India - Kyrgyz Republic Defence Industrial Collaboration”, was held at Hotel Orion, Bishkek on 04-05 February 2026, with the collaborative efforts of the Embassy of India-Bishkek, Department of Defence Production of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of India, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Seminar was attended by over 75 participants to include 40 attendees from the Kyrgyz side (Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, State Border Service, State Penitentiary Service and Five Defence Companies) and 35 attendees from the Indian side (Embassy of India-Bishkek, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and 15 Defence Companies). Presentations and Exhibition were held on 04 February 2026 and B2B meetings were conducted on 05 February 2026.
H.E. Shri Birender Singh Yadav, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kyrgyz Republic addressed the participants and stated that guided by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi of "Aatmanirbhar Bharat : Self-Reliant India” - the Indian Defence Sector has undergone significant reforms to boost Domestic Manufacturing, Innovations and Exports. Ambassador Singh highlighted that the varied spectrum of Indian Indigenous Defence Equipment proved its mettle in the Operation Sindoor and has gained immense attraction of Defence Markets worldwide. He further added that the Kyrgyz Republic, with its strategic location and growing technological interests, offers a compelling partnership and India is indeed willing to be a reliable and a long-term partner of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Defence and Technology Sector. He exhorted to exploit opportunities and give impetus to the spirit of co-development and joint ventures in areas of advanced capabilities and niche technologies between India and the Kyrgyz Republic.
H.E. Colonel Baibalaev Azizbek, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the increased momentum of bilateral Military and Military-Technical Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and India. He further added that the Seminar would pave way for more future interactions and cooperation in the field of Defence Industrial Collaboration between the two countries.
The Seminar was envisioned as a platform to explore synergies under the framework of Strategic Partnership. It not only provided a common and workable platform to the Policymakers, Defence Manufacturers, Experts and Partners from both sides, but also triggered many one to one interactions amongst them, paving way for future collaboration.
