Celebration of 77th Republic Day of India

 

 

    Embassy of India in Bishkek celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26th January 2026 at the Embassy premises. (On 26 January 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect and India became a republic)

 

2.       In the morning function, Ambassador Shri Birender Singh Yadav unfurled the National Flag in the presence of over 500 members of Indian diaspora and friends of India from the Kyrgyz Republic.  The event included singing of National Anthem of India followed by the reading out of the address to the nation on the eve of the 77th Republic Day of India, by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.  As a national commemorative initiative on completion of 150 years of Vande Matram as well as to celebrate the spirit of Vande Mataram and its unique role in the history of India, group singing of Vande Matram was also performed by the officers of the Embassy of India and the other participants from the Indian diaspora.  Prizes and “Certificate of Appreciation” were also distributed by the Ambassador to the winners of various competitions organized by the Embassy during the celebration of Hindi Divas, Ayurveda Day and Gita Mahotsav in 2025.

 

3.     Embassy hosted National Day Reception on the evening of 26th  January 2026 in the Grand Ball Room of Hotel Sheraton, Bishkek.  The reception brought together more than 400 guests including various Kyrgyz dignitaries, diplomatic community, senior officials from various government and international organizations and prominent community members of Indian diaspora.  Addressing the gathering, Ambassador spoke about the fastest growing Indian economy emphasizing major achievements in the recent past.  He also mentioned about the excellent bilateral relations between India and the Kyrgyz Republic. H.E. Mr. Almaz Imangaziev Kulubekovich, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.  In his address, he spoke about the strategic partnership between India and Kyrgyz Republic and current engagements cutting across various areas to strengthen the friendly relations between the two nations.

 

4.    An “ODOP Corner” was created at the venue of National Reception for display of various ODOP items showcasing the hardwork and craftsmanship of artisans from different districts of States of India. The evening featured captivating cultural performances by Indian as well as Kyrgyz artists celebrating the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India.
