Celebrations of World Hindi Day

Celebration of 'World Hindi Day – 10 January 2026

 

         Embassy of India, Bishkek, celebrated ‘World Hindi Day’ on 10th January, 2026 at its premises with participation of more than 100 students including members of Indian Diaspora.  The First World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur on this day in 1975 with the aim to promote the Hindi language worldwide and since then, every year 10th January is observed as World Hindi Day. The Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Missions and Posts abroad observe this day annually to promote the Hindi language worldwide. 

  1.      The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Evgeny Kablukov, Acting Professor of International Relations and Oriental Studies, Kyrgyz National University.  The event was jointly inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Evgeny Kablukov, Dr Prem Kumar, awardee of Pravasi Bharat Samman for the year 2024 and Ambassador Mr Birender Singh Yadav with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Ambassador addressed the gathering and read out the message from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on World Hindi Day.   Mr. Kablukov and Dr Prem Kumar also spoke on the occasion. 

  2.  Embassy organised Hindi essay writing, poetry writing competition and there was enthusiastic participation in this competition.  Certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners by the Chief Guest. 

  3.   Hindi  classes are being conducted by Teacher of Indian Culture (TIC) in Embassy’s Ayush Hall since 15 September 2025 and about 14 Kyrygz students have been enrolled since then.  About 8 students from Hindi class performed and sang Bollywood songs and thanked Embassy for organising  Hindi learning classes free of charge.  

  4.   Some of the Winners recited their poems and winners of Essay writing competition presented their entries on the occasion. A 4-member Musical band of IHSM University and IMU University presented a cultural performance. All present at the event sang National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. 

  5.  The event was covered by local Press and Media.
