Press Release on Celebration of International Gita Mahotsav on 7 November 2025
Embassy of India in Bishkek organized ‘Gita Mahotsav’ on 7 November 2025,as a prelude to the ‘International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra’, Haryana (November 15–December 5, 2025).
2 The Gita Mahotsav was celebrated to spread the global inspirational message of Bhagwad Gita and enlightenment with message of peace, harmony and universal brotherhood. The event symbolized appreciation of cultural diversity and fostering strengthening of warm and friendly cultural ties between India and Kyrgyz Republic.
3. The event was attended by more than 100 guests including members of the Indian diaspora, Indian medical students, Kyrgyz nationals, members of Yoga community, ITEC alumni and Hindi class students, commenced with a solemn invocation and recitation of select shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita.
4. In his address, Ambassador Birender Singh Yadav emphasized Gita's universal relevance: "The Bhagavad Gita, revealed by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, transcends time and borders Its message of dharma, selfless action, and inner peace and knowledge is a beacon for navigating modern challenges. Dr. Naveen Pandey, ICCR's Teacher of Indian Culture dwelled on teachings of Gita emphasizing on controlling the mind through meditation and yoga.
5. The Hindi class students rehearsed and chanted the Shloka from Gita in Sanskrit and expressed their gratitude for this opportunity to participate in the event. Members of Indian community and students from Kant University participated in recitation of Gita shlokas. Indian students from Kant University participated in the poster making competition and shloka recitation. This was followed by kathak and Bharatanatyam dances by local community members and complemented by soul-stirring bhajan by ITEC alumni. The event concluded with soulful music of Gita Aarti and Mahaprasadam.
6. The exhibition on teachings of Gita, Mahabharata provided by Kurukshetra Development Board, Government of Haryana was displayed at the Chancery with Russian translation, offering visitors a glimpse into India's rich cultural tapestry.

7. International Gita Mahotsav celebrated for the first time in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic was sponsored by Government of Haryana and Ministry of External Affairs, India.
