Invitation to celebrate 8th International Day of Yoga

         The International Day of Yoga (IDY) is celebrated all over the world every year on 21 June.  In 2014, the UN adopted a resolution on Celebration of International Yoga Day. The resolution was supported by 177 countries including Kyrgyzstan. Since then all together, adults and children, man and women come together and do yoga. Last Seven years International Yoga Day was celebrated in Bishkek and other cities of Kyrgyzstan very successfully.

On the occasion of 8th International Day of Yoga large-scale event will take place in Bishkek on 18 June.

The Event is being organized by the Indian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Bishkek.

The main purpose of the event is to encourage citizens to a healthy lifestyle and active leisure in the post pandemic era of Covid-19. Yoga is an ancient Indian tradition that embodies the unity of body and soul. Yoga provides an integrated approach to health and well-being and is now popular all over the world.

For celebrating the 8th IDY, in a grand way, on 18 June 2022, the Embassy is pleased to invite Indian diaspora, all yoga enthusiasts and practitioners in Bishkek, along with members of their families to participate in the mega Yoga session, which will be held at alley in front of the Statue of Kurmanjan Datka, Bishkek from 1800 hours.

Yoga t-shirts will be distributed to the participants at the Venue. Please bring your own yoga mat.
