Embassy of India, Bishkek celebrated International Women’s Day 2025

        Embassy of India, Bishkek celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 under the theme “For ALL Women and Girls – Rights, Equality, Empowerment”  on 6 March 2025 at its premises.  More than 50 guests including spouses of the Heads of Missions and International Organizations, women Diplomats and leading women from KR attended the event.
2.    Ambassador Birender Singh Yadav and Mrs Richa Rao welcomed the guests and inaugurated the event with the lighting of ceremonial lamp. In his welcome speech, Ambassador highlighted the fact that Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 is guided by pivotal dimension of women-led development. He mentioned that various women-centric schemes  like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Swacch Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission have made life of Indian woman dignified, healthier, easier, secure and empowered. Other Programme like PM Matri Vandana Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and PM Awas Yojana have played an important role in improving the lives of women by ensuring equality, financial independence, good health, improving ease of living and creating a secure future for them.  
India has made a significant progress in ensuring the decline in child sex ratio with programmes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign  thereyby decreasing the maternal mortality rate. Poshan Abhiyan addressed serious issue of inadequate malnutrition amongst the girl child.
3.    Following Hon’ble PM’s clarion call to fight obesity,  Embassy’s yoga instructor organized an interactive Yoga demo session to popularize Yoga as a mean for daily exercise under the slogan Fitness Ka Dose; Aadha Ghanta Roz. 
4.    A short documentary titled “The Indian Women: An Indomitable Spirit ‘  was screened during the event. 
5.    A presentation was made by Kyrgyz ITEC alumni who participated in first ever conference for the Women Officers on “Enhancing the Role of Women in Peacekeeping : A Global South Perspective”, organised in India recently.

6.    A Musical Band of Indian Medical student sang melodious Indian songs popular in the region and enthralled the audience by their performance.
7.    The event was covered by local Press & Media.
