2^nd Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation

between India and the Kyrgyz Republic

The 2^nd meeting of the Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation between India and the Kyrgyz Republic was held on 08-09 July 2024 at New Delhi.

2. The Indian delegation was led by Head of International Cooperation Division, Ministry of Defence, Shri Vishwesh Negi, while the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Colonel Ormokoev RA, Chief of International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest in areas of Training, Capacity Building and Defence Industrial Collaboration.

3. The Kyrgyz delegation visited the National War Memorial and paid homage to the Martyrs. They also visited various Defence Industries in Delhi. A cultural tour of Delhi was organised for the visiting delegation.

4. The event facilitated furtherance of defence ties between the two countries, in sync with envisioned goals of achieving shared security objectives under the ambit of fostering Strategic Partnership.

5. It may be recalled that the 1^stmeeting of the Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation between India and the Kyrgyz Republic was held on      06-07 March 2023 at Bishkek.
