(Oncology Treatment in India)

Bishkek: June 2, KIRTAG (online news agency) – report by Guliza Chudubayeva

More than 100 Kyrgyz cancer patients were operated in super specialty hospital Medanta in India. The Deputy Director of Hospital of Department of Governmental and Presidential Affairs Gulmira Baitova reported on Tuesday at a press conference in KIRTAG.

“Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, experts in the field of oncology from India came to Kyrgyzstan for the fourth time. This time professor-oncologist Ashok Vaid, neurosurgeon Kidia Rishab and Manager of clinic of Medanta Wani Akber came to Kyrgyzstan. Today in the hospital of the Department of Governmental and Presidential Affairs we plan to examine about 80-90 people. More than 100 citizens of Kyrgyzstan underwent operation in one of the largest modern Indian hospital: Medanta”- she informed.

According to the manager of the Indian clinic Wani Akber, the hospital administration provides good discount to the Kyrgyz patients. “In our hospital highly skilled doctors perform surgeries including liver and kidney transplantation. Besides, surgeries on transplantations of bone marrow, intestine and other difficult surgeries are performed. In other countries the renal (kidney) transplantation costs from $ 20,000 to $ 50,000. In our hospital the price of such operation costs $ 10,000”- the manger reported.

Patients of this clinic confirmed Wani Akber’s words and expressed satisfaction and professionalism of the Indian physicians.

“My son had heavy convulsions, diagnosed the doctors and suggested to undergo a surgery within two weeks. The child was operated by highly qualified specialists in India. Now everything is all right with my son”- narrated the father of one of the patients.

Another patient noted that Russian and Belarusian experts couldn’t cure his illness. He had lost hope. But he came to know about the Indian clinic which prescribed him a course of treatment. In three months he will undergo medical examination. He expressed gratitude towards the hospital.

The oncologist Ashok emphasized that in Medanta patients with difficult diagnoses are operated.

“In our hospital patients with difficult cases are operated as the hospital is highly equipped- the expert noted.
