Yoga Session at Ala Archa National Park on 27 May 2025 to mark
the 25-Day Countdown to the 11th International Day of Yoga, June 21, 2025
Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
Ladies and gentlemen of the press, esteemed guests, Heads of Yoga studieos in Bishkek and Yoga instructors and friends,
Namaste and a warm welcome to all of you who have gathered here at the breathtaking Ala Archa National Park as we come together to mark the 25-day countdown to the 11th International Day of Yoga, to be celebrated globally on June 21, 2025. It is an honor to address you today in this pristine natural setting, which perfectly embodies the harmony and balance that yoga seeks to cultivate in our lives.
The International Day of Yoga, which began as a Resolution passed by the United Nations in 2014 at the initiative of the Government of India, is a testament to the universal appeal of yoga as a practice that unites body, mind, and spirit. This year, as we approach the 11th edition, the theme of "Yoga for One Earth One Health" reminds us of yoga’s transformative power—not only for individual well-being but also for fostering peace, unity, and resilience in our communities and for the entire Earth.
Today’s yoga session here at Ala Archa National Park is a vibrant celebration of this timeless practice, set against the majestic backdrop of Kyrgyzstan’s natural beauty. We are thankful to the Director, National Park who have given us the opportunity to organise a yoga session at this beautiful location. Embassy is proud to organize this event as part of our ongoing efforts to promote yoga in the Kyrgyz Republic. Over the years, we have witnessed growing enthusiasm for yoga in Bishkek, Osh, and beyond, with thousands of people embracing its benefits for physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance.
This countdown event is more than a prelude to June 21; it is a call to action for all of us to integrate yoga into our daily lives. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a beginner, yoga offers a path to inner peace and holistic health, accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. The serene environment of Ala Archa, with its fresh air and tranquil landscapes, enhances our practice today, reminding us of the deep connection between humanity and nature.
I am delighted to share that the Embassy of India will continue its tradition of offering free yoga classes at Ayush Hall of the Embassy, welcoming all who wish to explore this ancient Indian tradition.
