Distinguished Guests, Ladies & Gentlemen,

Good Morning to all of you,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome all of you to this event today which has been organized to connect the business communities of India and Kyrgyz Republic and explore the scope of further strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between India and the Kyrgyz Republic in various sectors.

India, the world's fourth-largest economy, has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy and is on track to become the world's third-largest economy with a projected GDP of $7.3 trillion by 2030. This transformation is the result of a decade of decisive governance, visionary reforms, and global engagement under Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Driven by robust domestic demand, a dynamic demographic profile, and sustained economic reforms, India is asserting its rising influence in global trade, investment and innovation. From achieving historic GDP growth and record exports to revolutionising digital payments and empowering millions through financial inclusion, India has laid the foundation for a resilient, equitable, and future-ready economy. With robust FDI inflows, expanding trade, and innovation-driven sectors leading the charge, India is no longer a passive participant in the global economy, it is a key architect of its future.

The role of FIEO in promoting trade and economic relations between India and the rest of the world is significant ever-since its inception in 1965. FIEO acts as a bridge between the exporters and the government and many other entities that facilitate Indian exports. Its active and robust mechanism to address the exporter's issues and its efforts to promote Indian products in the global market has positioned India as one of the major players in global trade.

India-Kyrgyz relations are symbolic of mutual support, respect for each other, friendship and trust. India and Kyrgyz Republic are trusted Strategic Partners that enjoy shared values such as development, democracy, culture and rich heritage. Since times immemorial, India and Kyrgyz Republic have been civilizational neighbours and our successful interactions at various levels and forums over the years bear testimony to India's commitment and have helped in consolidating our historic ties further. The excellent political relationship has laid the foundation for the strong economic and commercial relations.

Bilateral trade between India and Kyrgyzstan during 2024 reached a new high of US$ 116 million. India's exports to the Kyrgyz Republic were US$ 89 million while India's imports were US$ 27 million. Indian exports have registered a growth of more than 200% on year-to-year basis. However, this is well below the potential and still needs to be enhanced. The main exports from India included pharmaceutical products, electric machinery and equipment, clothing and food products. Exports from the Kyrgyz Republic to India included mineral fuel, oil and their distillation products, vegetables, and prepared products from meat and fish. Now our focus is to explore the new items for adding into the existing trade basket to strengthen the potential. We need to make joint efforts to enhance the bilateral trade between India and Kyrgyz Republic primarily in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, education, information technology, infrastructure, agriculture and processing of agricultural products, textile, energy, leather and footwear industry, precious stones and jewelry. These are the most promising areas of bilateral economic cooperation.

I thank Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), JIA Business Association and Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic for collaborating with our Embassy in organizing this event and connecting the business communities of India and Kyrgyz Republic to strengthen our bilateral trade in various sectors. I hope today’s interaction between business communities of India and Kyrgyz Republic will pave the way for further enhancement of our bilateral trade and investment. I wish you success in your deliberations today.

Thank you.
