Address by Ambassador to the Indian Diaspora on 26 January, 2024

Members of the Indian Community,

My colleagues in the Embassy,

Dear students,

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Good morning!

Let me begin by conveying my greetings and best wishes to all of you on the 75th Republic Day of India. This is the day when the Constitution of India came into force and our young Republic has thus reached an important milestone today during this Amritkaal. As we are meeting in the beginning of the new year, let me convey my best wishes to all of you for a very happy, prosperous, and successful New Year!

I take this opportunity to welcome the students who have joined their first semester in the medical universities in the Kyrgyz Republic and wish them all success in their future endeavours.

Hon'ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu addressed the nation yesterday on the eve of the 75th Republic Day. You would have listened to her address and read her message. We have made her address available through the social media channels of this Embassy. I would now like to read out her address.

The welfare and well-being of our Diaspora including our students and workers in the Kyrgyz Republic is a priority for this Embassy. Safety of all the Indians nationals here is foremost. We are told that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic often visits various universities where foreign students, including Indians, study in large numbers and brief them about the steps that students should take for their personal safety. Such guidelines are equally important for other Indian nationals as well. I would recommend that all of you must adhere to these recommendations.

The Embassy has an Emergency Helpline number 0555710041 where you can reach us any time of the day. We can be contacted 24 X 7 on this number. A Weekly Open House is held at the Embassy every Wednesday between 4 pm and 5 pm. If you have any issue, you may visit the Embassy at this time and discuss it with our officials during the Open House. I may add that such visitors to the Open House must carry their passport as proof of their for identity.

The Embassy is striving to build up a database of Indian nationals in the Kyrgyz Republic which will be used to directly reach out in case of necessity. This registration can be done on the Embassy’s website. I would urge all the students here to definitely register on the MADAD portal of the Ministry of External Affairs. A link to this has been provided on the Embassy’s website

Members of the Indian Diaspora here are ambassadors of India's culture and civilization in the Kyrgyz Republic. You all have a major responsibility to keep the Indian flag flying high while adapting to your lives in this country. At the same time, you can display our rich cultural heritage here through programmes such as the Diwali function organized by the India-Kyrgyz Friendship Society alongwith and the student community here last year.

With these words, I would like to once again convey my best wishes to all of you on this historic occasion and thank you all for accepting our invitation and joining us.

Thank you.
