ITEC Scholarships 2018 - 19

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) is India’s flagship programme to share its knowledge and skills with fellow developing countries in an effort to build capacity and develop human capital. Under ITEC Programme, short-term courses on various subjects such as Accounts, Audit, Banking, English Language, Entrepreneurship Development, Environment, Finance, Management, Mass Communication, Production Management, Remote Sensing, Renewable Energy, Quality Control, Rural Development, Rural Electrification, Small & Medium-sized Enterprises, Standardization, Technical Teachers Training, Telecommunication, Tool Designs, etc., are offered. Only those working professionals between 25 and 45 years of age with knowledge of English language and those who have not used ITEC Scholarship earlier are eligible to apply.

Applications are required to be filled in by the applicants themselves at the “Apply for ITEC” link at the website <https://www.itecgoi.in>. They can choose their own login email ID and create their login password, which would be used by the system to keep them posted of the processing status. After a candidate applies for a course, should take a printout of the application and send it to the Embassy of India, Bishkek through the nominating ministry/organization.

On receipt of the application, aspirant will be called for English Test in the Embassy, followed by an Interview. Selected candidates will be provided gratis visa, return airfare, airport pickup/drop in India, living allowance, accommodation and book allowance. Expenses on study tour in India will also be borne by the Government of India.

About ITEC

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme popularly known as "ITEC" was launched in 1964 as a bilateral progamme of assistance of the Government of India. Ever since its inception, training of thousands of nominees of ITEC Partner Countries have been the most successful cooperation programme and is highly appreciated by the recipient countries.

ITEC is the most important effort of the Indian Government's technical cooperation, not only because of its wide geographical coverage but also for different forms of technical cooperation in which it has assisted.

Following are pre-requisites for training in India:

i)

Candidate should be between the age of 25 and 45.

ii)

Candidate should possess working knowledge of English for English courses, and for other courses, candidate should possess good knowledge of English.

iii)

Candidate should be of sound health.

iv)

Candidate should have minimum five years of work experience.

ITEC Training

Technical Training is one of the major activities under ITEC. Professionals from developing countries are offered unique training courses in different centres of excellence in India, which imparts not just professional skills but prepares them for an increasingly automated world.

Kyrgyzstan and ITEC

Government of India offers a number of short-term courses to the professionals from Kyrgyzstan every year. The number of participants in civilian courses has reached 77 in 2017-18 from 2 in 1992-93. 1255 professionals from Kyrgyzstan have received training in India from 1992 till March 2018.

Facilities Provided under ITEC

 
Under ITEC, training is provided free of charge to nominees from Kyrgyzstan at some of the best Indian institutes in various specialties.  Government of India bears the cost of visa, air travel from Kyrgyzstan to India and vice versa, and accommodation. In addition, Government of India pays a living allowance (stipend) to the trainees for the duration of the course.

ITEC DAY CELEBRATION

18 Dec 2018

          ITEC Day (2017-2018) was celebrated on Monday, 18 December 2018. A reception was hosted on this occasion at National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr Kaldybaev Salidin Kadyrkulovich, was the Chief Guest. Invitees included ITEC Alumni, local dignitaries and media personnel. More than 150 people attended the reception.

          The Ambassador L. Savithri encouraged the ITEC alumni to contribute towards enhancing our people-to-people contact by encouraging more friends to join the ITEC family. Ambassador also highlighted latest development in Science & Technology and Innovation in India. ITEC alumni also shared their experiences and presented cultural programme on the event.
