ADVISORY FOR INDIAN STUDENTS WISHING TO STUDY MEDICAL COURSE IN KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

- It has come to the notice of the Mission that the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) and Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic has jointly conducted an inspection of the International Medical University (IMU) and criminal case has been initiated against certain faulty members of International Medical University (IMU) in Bishkek by the State Committee for National Security for issuing medical diplomas to foreign students falsifying academic and evaluation records without their actual presence in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- In view of several complaints received at the Mission from the students regarding non-payment of fee to the university, non-fulfilment of contractual obligations, misleading students by providing false and unrealistic information by Educational Consultants/Contractors (EC) and misappropriation of fee paid by sub-agents of Educational Consultants/Contractors (EC), students desirous of pursuing medical education in the Kyrgyz Republic are advised to avail the services of only those Educational Consultants/Contractors (EC)s who have registered their company/firm in India. Before signing the contract with EC, Students and their parents/guardians should verify and confirm the Corporate Identification Number (CIN), Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN) and Permanent Account Number (PAN) of Educational Consultants/Contractors (EC). Students should also obtain the contact numbers and address details of the Educational Consultants/Contractors (ECs) in India and the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Students should ensure that itemized breakup of all charges towards Tuition Fee year-wise, accommodation, food and other expenses are clearly mentioned in the contract/agreement/acceptance letter issued by the universities, before signing it. They can also compare the details given at the website of the universities and at the portal https://edugate.edu.gov.kg/
- Prospective students are strongly advised to exercise due diligence in ascertaining from the Universities / Educational Consultants/Contractors (EC) whether the medical universities in the Kyrgyz Republic especially the newly established private universities have the requisite infrastructure and laboratory, English speaking faculty etc. as per the NMC’s Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations -2021 published in the ‘The Gazette of India’ on November 18, 2021.
- Prospective students are strongly advised to come to the Kyrgyz Republic for studying Medical Course on ‘Student Visa’ only and not on any other categories of visa.
- Students are therefore advised to exercise due diligence while taking admission for medical course in Kyrgyz Republic particularly in the private universities.
