Speech by H.E. Ambassador of India at the time of performance

Dear Friends,

Welcome you all to witness the performance by Natya STEM Dance Company.

First of all let me thank the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Directorate of the Philharmony Hall and of course the Indian Council of Cultural Relations for supporting this event. My big thanks goesto International University of Kyrgyzstan for their support; Hotel Golden Tulip; organization veda.kg; and restaurant Host.

It is a matter of great satisfaction that the people from Kyrgyzstan appreciate Indian culture. All of you know Raj Kapur and Mithun Chakravarti. Indian culture is not only Bollywood, but it has history of 5000 years. It is very interesting to see that in some cases, the art forms which have been transmitted from generation to generation without audio-recordings, without pen-drives, are as old as 2000 years.

Ever since I came as India's Ambassador to the beautiful country of Kyrgyzstan, I have been making efforts to introduce different elements of the Indian culture to the Kyrgyz audience. Last year we have had folk dance Bhangra; this year in the month of March Sitarist and Kathak dancer performed here; and now we have Natya STEM dance Kampany. Let us give a big hand to Ms. Madhu Natarajan and her troupe.

I am proud of the fact that this is for the first time in the history of relationship between India and the Kyrgyz Republic, an Indian troupe is performing in the prestigious hall of National Philharmony. We are witnessing a historical moment in that sense.

There may be many reasons what role Art can play in our lives. To my mind, the first and foremost, art does is creates beauty around us. The atmosphere of beauty either around us or its impressions which leave in our minds inspire us and help us in conducting our business more efficiently and with more passion.

Let us welcome Natya Stem Dance Kampani once again and I wish you a pleasant evening.

Thank You.
