Celebration of 70th Independence Day of India

The Embassy of India celebrated the 70th Independence Day of India in Bishkek on 15th August 2016. On this occasion, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery premises. The Ambassador read out Hon'ble President of India’s address to the nation delivered on the eve of the Independence Day. The Ambassador also briefed the Indian community on the bilateral relations between India and Kyrgyzstan and the efforts being made on enhancing them. A number of documentary films such as on the Initiatives of the Government of India, International Yoga Day, Spirit of India were shown on the occasion. Around 150 invitees comprising India based officials with their families, Indian community, students, friends of India etc. attended the ceremony. Refreshments were served to the guests following the ceremony.
